What Papcup does

Sanziana Foia is an Imperial College London chemist and biosensor researcher on a mission to make cervical screening radically more comfortable and accessible. After her father had a stroke when she was 17, she dedicated herself to building faster, point-of-care diagnostics. During her PhD in Bioengineering at Imperial - and after her own first smear test - she founded Papcup, a women's health startup using advanced electrochemical biosensing to detect cervical cancer markers without a speculum. With a woman dying every 90 seconds from cervical cancer, Papcup pairs scientific rigour with empathetic design.

Superpower: Science With Empathy

"Healthcare should come to people - faster answers, more dignity, and more control over your own body."

  • A real business in health & wellness started with a specific problem, not a perfect plan.
  • Science With Empathy is a skill you can practise, not something you are born with.
  • How product & service development shows up in a real business.
  • How sustainability & impact shows up in a real business.
  • How real-world business shows up in a real business.
