Girls' confidence drops by around 30% between the ages of 8 and 14. In the UK, 3 in 4 teachers believe most pupils leave education without the money skills they need for adulthood.
The result? Girls opt out of entrepreneurship before they even know it's an option. They don't lack ability - they lack visibility, skills and belief.
The Rose Review estimated that closing the UK gender enterprise gap could add £250 billion to the economy - around £310 billion in today's prices. The opportunity isn't just personal - it's national.
That's why we believe the change has to start younger - before limiting beliefs set in.

Meet Kim
I've spent 16 years working in corporate innovation, with the last five focused on inclusion, entrepreneurship, and impact. I've led programmes supporting underrepresented founders and championed people who've been overlooked by traditional systems.
Here's what I've learned: If we want to create real change, we have to start younger. The statistics are clear - girls' confidence drops dramatically during adolescence, and most will never see a female entrepreneur they can relate to.
We Can Be was born from that belief: if girls are given the tools early to dream big, take risks, and build confidence, they won't just participate in the future of business - they'll lead it.
