What TECgirls & TECwomen does

Caitlin Gould is the visionary founder of TECgirls and TECwomen CIC, with over 15 years of experience in the tech sector. She set up TECgirls in 2019 to tackle the lack of women in technology, engineering, and creative industries - starting in rural Cornwall where career connections are even harder to find. Since then she has worked with thousands of girls, showing them that tech is absolutely a girl thing. Caitlin is passionate about AI, gender equality in tech, and creating environments where girls feel confident about their digital futures.

Superpower: Closing the Gender Gap in Tech

"Technology, engineering, and creativity are a girl thing - and we are only just getting started."

What a young person can learn from this

  • A real business in education & publishing started with a specific problem, not a perfect plan.
  • Closing the Gender Gap in Tech is a skill you can practise, not something you are born with.
  • How entrepreneurial mindset shows up in a real business.
  • How sustainability & social impact shows up in a real business.
  • How product & service development shows up in a real business.

Try this

Talk about it: What did this founder already know or care about before starting, and how did that help?

Then do it: List what you already know more about than most people your age, then turn one into an idea.
